Czech Republic
The Czech Republic, located in central Europe, was freed from the domination of the Soviet Union in 1989, and has prospered over the years. It is increasingly becoming a popular tourist destination with many low-cost airlines flying into its capital, Prague, great for a long weekend.
The landscape is quite varied. Bohemia to the west consists of a basin, drained by two rivers, the Elbe and the Vltava, and is surrounded by mostly low mountains, where you will find the highest point in the country, the Snezka at 1,602m. Moravia, in the east, is also quite hilly.
